Rafi Bastos is a 6’7” tall Jewish-Brazilian comedian with an accent like Dracula and a rapidly growing social media presence of stand up clips in English. Many of Rafi’s super-viral stand up clips come from nightly performances at the prestigious Comedy Cellar. In his home-country of Brazil, Rafi is a trailblazer of comedy, media and is one of the first comedians to pioneer the art of American-style stand up comedy in Brazil.
Originally from Detroit, comedian, actor, writer and (sometimes) director, Tony T. Roberts has been blessed with the coveted honor of being the, “Comedians-comedian.” The guy other performers love to watch work. His hilarious and refreshing energetic comedy style has granted him respect and created a huge demand for him on the comedy circuit, here in the states and abroad. Legendary comedian and sitcom director, David Steinberg, acclaimed Tony as, “A breakout talent” after witnessing Tony’s stand-up act and casting him as the lead in a series of funny burger king commercials he directed. During quarantine, Ben found viral success producing “The Table,” a sketch comedy series about how the various states of the US are handling current events. With increasing opportunities and support for local comedy, it is no coincidence that the talent pool of comedians in Charlotte has deepened. If you are into the local comedy scene and have not heard of Don Garrett, the joke is on you. The Virginia native has performed all over the East Coast opening for the winner of the fifth season of Last Comic Standing, Jon Reep. Garrett is also helping cultivate Charlotte’s comedy scene by teaching stand-up and improv classes. Check out his newest set, Don Garrett Comedy Presents…The Unfiltered Show Vol 2 at Booth Playhouse on August 13. Almost six years ago, while on his lunch break in Winston-Salem, Centry noticed a sign outside of a bar promoting a weekly open mic comedy show. With comedic influences of Katt Williams, Kevin Hart, Anthony Jeselnik and Sarah Silverman, Centry’s stand-up reputation has led him to perform all across the state.
Noel’s biting one-liners and topical social commentary have made him a force to be reckoned with in the comedy world with over 8 million supporters across social platforms (as of Oct. 2023). In 2023, Noel’s touring career reached new heights with his ‘Everything is F#&ked’ tour where he performed to sold out rooms of thousands in 76 cities worldwide and filmed his first comedy special which debuts in October 2023. By popular demand, Noel will hit the road again in 2024 for his ‘Noel Miller Live’ set. Locally, you may have already experienced Laine’s stand-up as tour guide on Charlotte’s The Funny Bus.
