HBO has released the first official trailer for “House of the Dragon,” the network’s “Game of Thrones” prequel series debuting on Aug. 21. The Hightowers are a wealthy house whose seat of power is in Old Town, and at the beginning of the series Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) is the Hand of the King. (This is the same position that Ned Stark had for King Robert Baratheon at the beginning of Game of Thrones).

They decide that Baelon’s son Viserys (Paddy Considine) should inherit the Iron Throne instead.

Ser Simon Strong (Simon Russell Beale) will step up as Castellan of Harrenhal, Ser Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox) will surface as Otto Hightower’s son, and Alyn of Hull (Abubakar Salim) will follow up on his work in the Stepstones campaign. Millie Alcock and the rest of the first-generation Targaryens and Hightowers will, as far as HBO has indicated, not be returning this season in flashbacks. That doesn’t mean that we won’t see them again someday, but at least Paddy Considine does not have to jeopardize his own health for another stunning performance that the awards circuit decides to ignore.

So, while the “beast beneath the boards” seemed to most obviously point towards Rhaenys crashing Aegon’s coronation in Season 1, Helaena's prophecy also seemed like it could be foreshadowing Blood and Cheese invading the Red Keep through the secret tunnels. I personally liked the idea that the most obvious explanation was wrong and that the payoff would take some time... The Great Houses
In an episode filled with intriguing figures, Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion stands out in Game of Thrones as a character of extra fascination. As a Lannister with what appears to be a lack of moral fiber — he drinks too much, sleeps around, and isn’t terribly careful with his words — Tyrion could be a villain. But he’s funny, articulate, and, as an outcast in his own family due to his stature, someone worthy of empathy.
